It's the Christmas Season

Christmas Break

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

December is here and we only have 3 weeks until Christmas break which is December 21-January 5. May you and your family have a wonderful time together anticipating and celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

As we anticipate our time off to celebrate Christmas, there are many activities happening before them.

On December 9 reports cards will be posted on the Family Portal. However, you may go to the Family Portal in FACTS, click on "Students" and "Grades," and for each subject select "T1"and you will be able to see your child’s grade for the 1st trimester in that subject.

The Middle School and High School Christmas Concert will be held on the evening of Thursday, December 12 at 7:45 p.m. at Conestoga Mennonite Church. Come on out and celebrate our Savior's birth in music.

There will be an all school spirit week December 6-13. There will be different competitions with dress up days, door decorating contests, and more all capped with an assembly on December 13 to award the coveted spirit stick to the grade with the most points earned during the week. Below are the dress up days for the week.

Cougar Classic December 6-7

The  high school varsity boys and girls basketball teams compete this Friday and Saturday at home at the Cougar Classic basketball tournament. The girls play on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. followed by the boys at 8:30 p.m. Come on out and support the teams.

The MS girls and boys have their first home games on December 5 at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively.

It looks like we will be getting colder weather in the near future which could mean snow.
    • If we were to get snow and we were to have a 2-hour delay or a snow day, you would be notified by CCS’ Parent Alert System via email, text, and email.

    • Also, if we have a snow day, unless Mr. Parris directs otherwise, we will have MS & HS online virtual core classes that day. Below are the expectations for a virtual day.

    • When Mr. Parris calls a snow day, MS core class (Bible, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) teachers will post their class lessons by 8:00 a.m. (These can be pre-recorded lessons, videos from online, IXL/Khan Academy/etc. lessons, textbook or literature reading, research, work on projects, etc.)

    • There will be some type of evaluation for the students to turn into their teachers.

    • Students will have until 11:59 p.m. to complete their assignments .

    • Rotations classes will have no assignments.

    • Teachers will be available by email from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for students to contact them with questions.

    • Students and parents should communicate via email with the teachers/principal if there is an issue with WIFI at home.
    • Finally, students must go to their homeroom Google Classroom and mark themselves present by 2:30 p.m. to be counted as present for the day.

    • Check out Mrs. Turner's video that explains virtual lessons during snow days.

On the evening of January 8, 2025 CCS will have a Strategic Plan Townhall. Join us for praise and prayer and the unveiling of our three year strategic plan. More information to follow later this month.
