Concerns About Any of Your Child's Classes
Every once and a while a student may come home and share with you about something that occurred in a class. Or you may have a concern about an assignment or grade.  Often your child's perception about an incident in class, an assignment, or grade may not be reality.  If there is a concern, please contact your child's teacher first.  If after you have contacted your child's teacher and the concern has not been resolved, please contact Mr. Hepler and we can set up a time to meet together with the teacher and come to a resolution.

For more general concerns that occur during the day in the halls, at lunch, etc. please feel free to contact Mr. Hepler

By now you should be able to see grades, attendance, and homework (in lesson plans) posted in your child's classes through the Family Portal in FACTS, our school management system. If you have not already set up your Family Portal for FACTS, click here for instruction to set up your Family Portal account.

Did you know that you can access your child's Google Classroom to see the specific assignments they have in each class and to see if they have completed and turned in assigned work. All you need is their conestogachristian.net email address and their password.  Click here for information on how to access and use Google Classroom.

Do You Know What Your Child is Doing on the Internet and Social Media?
The Internet and social media can be wonderful tools, but there are many dangers and temptations to which our students can be exposed. Here at CCS we monitor MS and HS Google Accounts and Email.

If students attempt to access an inappropriate website or app using their CCS Google Account at school or at home, it is blocked. CCS email messages are monitored by our system for messages of self-harm, emotional or mental struggles, inappropriate messages, etc. These type of messages are flagged and sent to Mr. Hepler. If you have your child's CCS email address (firstname.lastname.yearofgraduation@conestogachristian.net) and password, you can access their email at any time from any device. Please note that we cannot monitor a student's non-CCS email or smart phone.

If your child has a smart phone, do you monitor you child's phone to see what they are listening to, texting, posting, snapchatting, instagramming, tik toking, watching on YouTube, emailing, etc.?

To help you monitor what your child may be doing on their smartphone and computers, many tools are now available.  These tools can assist you to monitor and protect your children from the dangers out there in the cyber world.  A Christian company that has products and recommends resources to help parents protect and monitor their children's online and smartphone use is Protect Young Eyes. To see these resources click here.

CCS uses Securly://  to monitor students' internet use when they are logged into a school Chromebook. You can also monitor your child's activity online while they are on a CCS Chromebook or on their CCS Google Account at home. Through Securly Home you have access to view your child's internet history and get scheduled reports.

Parental involvement can significantly improve a child's academic achievement. Securly's Parent Portal and the Securly Home app increase parental involvement by providing information that can be used to frame conversations about what students are learning in school. These services give parents a window on student internet activity and complement what we are already doing to keep students safe at school. We make this service available to families of students from grades 6 - 12 who use their CCS Google accounts at home and at school and who use the CCS Chromebooks. To access the Securly Home App click here.
