Summer is Flying By. We'll Be Ready for the First Day of School

As I write I am thinking, the summer is going so fast and is already half over. In five and a half weeks, the students will be walking through our doors.  With that in mind, we have been busy giving tours, interviewing families, enrolling new students, working on schedules, and preparing and planning for the new school year.
We are sad to see Mrs. Fabian leave CCS as God calls her and her husband to Gordon-Conwell Seminary as they seek to prepare for the mission field. We thank Mrs. Fabian for the excellent job she did in working with our MS and HS concert choirs as well as directing the school musicals.  As God calls one servant of His away, He calls another to serve. We are thrilled to have hired a new music teacher, Miss Hannah Stone, and we are excited that God has brought her here to CCS.
Later this week and early next week, I will be setting up the middle school course schedules enrolling students in the various courses.  This year students will be taking all of their rotation classes for the entire year. Some courses like Physical Education, Language Arts Extension, Math Extension, and Music will be two days a week. Art, Computer, Spanish, and Tech will be one day a week.

Middle school electives this year will be on Wednesdays and Fridays during 8th period.  You will be receiving an email at the beginning of August for students to sign up for their electives. Also, eighth-grade students will be receiving an additional email with the registration form and information on the eighth-grade retreat. This year the retreat is from August 30 - September 1 and should cost around $110 which will cover the cost of transportation, lodging, six meals, and several camp led team building activities. We are finalizing the details over the next two weeks.
Remember that it is not too late for students to enroll and if you know of families who are considering Christian education, have them contact Michelle Parris at michelle.parris@conestogachristian.net .  Also, remember that current families who refer a new family to our school will receive a $600 tuition credit when the family enrolls, and their children attend classes. For more information on ways to reduce tuition go to http://www.conestogachristian.net/Reduce_tuition_at_ccs.html .

In the next five weeks, you will be receiving emails in regards to various information. Please make sure that you check your email and also check your spam folder. Some emails programs will send emails that are sent out in mass to your spam folder.
Some dates to put on your calendar for which you will get more information in the future are:
August 25 - Back to School Night
August 29 - First Day of School
August 30 - September 1 - 8th Grade Retreat
September 2 - No School
September 5 - No School - Labor Day
